Is It December Already?!

Is It December Already?!

First of, all, thanks for joining me with last month’s card frenzy. As soon as this posts, one last reminder for anyone who’d like a card in the mail will be heading out. Hopefully you’ve already signed up for my mailing list!

Secondly, there was a little giveaway for a few window cards, and the lovely Libby Weirs has won that.

30 days of cards ||

Thirdly, how can it possibly be December?

Does it feel like December snuck up on you? It feels like it snuck up on me!

What does this month hold in store? Let’s see…

I’m participating in 12 Days of Christmas Cards with Carole Cassel, who has a wonderful site teaching Paintshop Pro for scrapbookers.

My oldest will be putting up a Christmas related post next week, since he’s job shadowing his father in the morning, and myself in the afternoon. How’s that for a school project?

I haven’t done a PL update in ages, so that will be showing up as well.

And a December Daily? Probably not. There’s just a bit too much going on for me to do that as well. I’ll use my PL to capture the holiday memories.

My birthday is this month, and I’ll be raiding my stash for a giveaway.

And, this month is the two year anniversary of this blog, so we’ll be doing a bit of retrospective of favorite old posts as well.

So, this month is busy. But then again, isn’t every month?

What do you have planned for the month?

Everything But the Kitchen Sink

Everything But the Kitchen Sink

Today’s card feels like I threw everything but the kitchen sink into it. We’ve got alcohol inks, punches, dimensional glue and pop up windows here. It could be a grand mess of a card, but I think it works.

Let’s start with the outside.

spaceship card ||

Here, a spaceship is stamped and colored and fussy cut, and mounted on pop dots over the background. The background was created by pouncing alcohol inks in stream slate and pearl on glossy coated cardstock. I used a metallic ink to stamp some stars on the background, and also added a few tiny punched stars in a gold foil tissue paper. I really like how it came out personally.

The interior features another of those stamped transparencies I showed you earlier this week.

And a pop up window! How’s that for fancy? šŸ˜‰

I used my Creative Memories oval cutter to trim the transparency to an oval that fit within the window. The card parts were part of a set I got years ago, and they’ve been gathering dust for ages.

Putting this together made me realize I’d rather design my own window card than use a prepared set, so I’ve got a set of ten cards left that I can give away. If you’d like them for yourself, leave a comment below, and I’ll pick someone to sendĀ them to.

As a reminder, I am sending out these cards to those of you on my mailing list who send me your addresses. First step to getting one of these cards? Sign up above for my mailing list!

I love giving the post office work.

Christmas giveaway

It’s just paper and a set of stickers, and each set is slightly different, but I think you’ll find these stickers very inspiring. You may even want to do something like what I did with them:

This is a very simple layout, but it is one of my very favorites, because it was so much fun to make.

So leave a comment below by January first, and I’ll pick six commenters to get a mini kit.
