Watercolor-style Flowers

Watercolor-style Flowers

One of the fun things you can do with distress markers is use them to create a watercolor effect with your stamps.

You begin by coloring the stamp surface with the brush end of the marker, give it a quick, indirect spritz with a mini mister, and then stamp onto a smooth surface.

By varying the amount of water you spritz on the stamp after you color it, you can get a variety of images, from a very impressionistic style to the ink just barely moving beyond the image edge. You can see the different styles below.

The technique is really that simple. Give it a try, and see what you come up with. It’s a fun technique to play with.
